All back together now

Wipers initially had a mind of their own but seeing as they were having a bath for a few months, I would expect that, after a test drive though they have fixed themselves, is that a first for an RS6? Free repair???

Only one issue, handbrake light stays on, had a bit of a faff replacing rear of console so maybe knocked it in process or the mount is pretty weak which I found on removing, I’ll have to get a look at that again soon

So far, gear issues are now fine, no extra lights or dodgy selections etc, moisture in the plug must have been causing it thankfully

I have now noticed quite a squeaking when dry steering a bit, would this likely be the top mounts? Don’t imagine rack has anything to do with it?

Handbrake has a single wire going to it on a spade connector IIRC. You probably dislodged it.

Well done mate. A really nice job.
Wish I had your patience.
Looks like you got lucky on this occasion with the ingress of water you encountered.

Yes Shop, it’s a really flimsy little bar steward so I’ll hopefully reach it by removing the rear vent, or I’m now an expert in removing the console anyway as it was in and out so many times on the refit

Cheers lads, definitely feels a lot better back together now, and it’s quieter, some additions have happened in points in its life with digital TV etc and armrest repairs and there was a lot of noise and creaking from bits, but that all seems to be gone now, and it’s the cleanest it’s been, just need to keep on top of it now

Soon as the weather improves, new wheels going on this year

Keep us updated on the gearbox lights, mine are completely random and my TCU is bone dry.

Will do mate

Had a good 2hr drive out with the daughter yesterday and it didnt skip a beat, its been stopped and started a few times and this is where i was having issues, first gear would hold etc, lights on dash, reverse was very clunky, now its back to normal dare i say, feels slightly better, moisture was definitely my issue i would say

Could your F125 be intermittent maybe? Have you scanned it, what came back?

18243 - Pressure Control Valve 5 (N233) is what i get when it happens. F125 switch used to throw a code but changed that and never had the F125 code since.

Sorry Bilko, that’s an odd one, not heard of it before

Just to report back, drive car yesterday and today, no issues with gearbox still so satisfied mine was the water ingress causing my problems. Car feels better generally but I think I fixed some loose trim issues etc, and it pulls better (less water now ;) )

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I have finally fixed the 18243 - Pressure Control Valve 5 (N233) on my RS6. A new (secondhand) TCU has fixed the fault no more reversed PNRDS on the dash when starting.
