Re: Thinking of buying
Well here’s a positive update.
Not a single drop of oil on the block paving this morning.
Nice to have PDC fully working again.
Nice to know that all cv boots have been replaced with original parts.
Happy days happy wife happy life.
Ps. TIL NEXT TIME.
Capt ric. And suz.
I stopped counting the ££££££££ two years ago.
It just made me depressed.
Since I stopped counting I am much happier (and so is the 6).
Basically if it needs doing it needs doing ?
Suz. Nice to know that you are also very fussy.

Steve,
Glad all is well, hopefully all will be well for a while.
To put RS6 repairs into perspective, my daily a 2008 Merc a180CDI has cost considerably more in repairs over the last 3 years than the RS. (It was a good cheap car until I made the mistake of taking it to the local garage for a replacement glow plug - which they fucked up and I've been putting their mistakes right ever since - the car is basically very good otherwise) Morale of the story , use a specialist for anything even slightly out of mainstream.

^ totally this. I use to use local service stations for routine stuff. Then had to visit unit 20 to put right their wrongs.Capt Ric wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 10:13 pmSteve,

Hate paying twice for a job.
Only use Neston now for just about everything.
Unless of course you are skilled enough to do it yourself.
Re: Thinking of buying
For the RS, it’s even more precise than that.
My car has receipts for work from a well known VAG specialist immediately prior to when I bought it. First job I had to do was to redo all their work! The one that really stood out was the chrome plastic film over the wing mirror glass. I kid you not!
For the C5 RS6, it really has to be one of 2 places you get to work on them.
