Is this the only colour for interior trim pieces?
Yes.

Take the door mirror switch trim for example. 4B0 959 557. There is only one colour available for the RS6: Soul Black. The switch itself is also Soul Black.

Then some of the switches are Satin Black. But it seems to be always either/or. I haven't seen an option where both are available for the RS6 for the same part.

Clear as mud.

But just check the parts catalogue and you will be OK.

clear as mud indeed.
now i'm a bit confused.
so for every part the colour description is Soul Black, unless it is Satin Black, but it shouldn't be both. Meaning if I find a part that is Soul or Satin black and for an RS6 it is correct.

so in the above, the switch cover is satin black and is correct, as it isn't soul back, but is satin black.

There is no Satin Black for this part in the RS6 parts catalogue. The correct colour for the RS6 is Soul Black for that part.

Whether there is any perceptible difference is a different question!

If its the cover/trim its a separate part # something like 4B0959557A 5PR which is in stock at Audi tradition, https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/tradit ... 57a-b98-14, 5.14 European pesos.
5PR is the colour code for Soul Black. Confusingly, so is 4PK.

This is the part you need:

Since both are available at AT, I'd be tempted to get both just to see what the hell the colour difference is!

I mean, if there is a part in the *RS6* parts catalogue that is Satin Black, it won't also be in there as Soul Black. As far as I have seen and as applying to trim, rather than accessories. Both variants probably exist in nature.

That makes sense.
I will order myself one of the mirror trim pieces (4B0959557A 5PR).
Does anybody else in the UK want one while I'm at it?
I can forward it to someone to distribute if there is more than one other in the UK.

Wow. Guess I was just lucky. I just ordered the trim and as it turned out it was a perfect match.
Think I will do the lottery this weekend.

So that’s the Satin Black. And you’re saying it’s a perfect match? Maybe there’s no real difference in colour.

I am very happy with it.
Photo of mine in situ on here above.
But as you say. Order both if in any doubt.
Cheap as chips.
Main cost for me was postage.

yours look spot on Steve, maybe I'll go for yours.
I should have bought one when you did.
I also should have offered it out then also.
Having had a critical look at the interior today these are now on the 'to do list'.
