3k for an exhaust? That’s a lot of hookers for the boot.

Priorities.

Funny how links to these 3k systems never materialise in the Akrapovic Wanted posts that always get put up here.

Mike is wrong.

OEM is quad exit, as there are 4 pipes exiting the back box, so Akra is certainly not fake. They're just bumper finishers anyway, you could leave the original fake ovals in there should you wish. Also finding one for £3k second hand is pipe (see what I did there) dream stuff, realistically budget £4k.

Nope I got a AKRA evolution INCUDING turbo back down pipes for £3k!!

Yeah you did ok, big licks to the cheeky Geordie gobshite that found it eh lol

It’s no good waiting for posts here!! You’ve got to go out and email folk and contact them and be cheeky!

Do some detective work.

Haha Sam you previously posted a link to one that sold for £3250. They are out there. I just don't care though.

Be careful, you are starting to sound like an akrapovic version of tadass.

Yes and that was the cheapest I've seen sold in the public domain, since I had a vested interest in late 2014. At least it's factual.

realistically budget £4k.
And I think that's fair, because a number have sold for more than that. With the highest being nearly £5.5k but that was not long after launch. I'm not going by the cheapest denominator here and instead setting a realistic expectation.

If there are people genuinely selling at £2-3k then bite their arm off and flip them on eBay for a profit. The last system Akra Audi RS system to sell on there was £4.3k, not seen an RS6/7 one for a while now. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Akrapovic-Ti ... SwzINbyZnA

And the 'Tads' reference is a bit low, I do have at least a bit of balance and decorum in these discussions.

I’ve passed up on 2 Akra systems in last few months, first went at 3.5k and second a full system at circa 3k, so they are out there and I think the going rate of 50% of original price is about right..

I’ll run with my Non Res Milltek for the time being but could possibly change to the new APR one if they ever release and we hear more than a 2min sound clip

Must admit I’m loving the Akra

At low speeds pottering around it sounds epic

Not as loud as a milltek when booting it though but a totally different tone, more like a subtle V8 noise.

As said it’s not worth 7.5 k new....however quality is next level....plus rear tips look great in the flesh.

8.5kg weight saving!! Not that it makes any difference

I’ve ran a milltek non res on my old RS6 and enjoyed it...but I’ve matured with age, and sick of getting looks like I’m a chav to be fair.

I’ve also had the resonators cut out of oem sports zorst so I’ve tried a few options.

Personally for me the AKRAPOVIC is the best yet!

But each to their own of course!!

Also the pops and bangs....which again with resonators cut out were stupid loud as with a milly are more subtle and controlled too with the Akra.

Got a bit sick of the car revving it’s tits off every time I started it....in car parks etc got a bit embarrassing.

But as said we al like different things 👍🏻

My car has a full Akrapovic system and in Comfort mode it sounds great. Just enough warble from the tailgate to keep me engaged while pootling around. It's quite a deep sound and deeper than a standard RS6, from memory.

Admittedly, I'm a new owner so haven't explored the car's capability yet (as of 19.1.19) and I've 'opened the taps' properly only once. I had the Driver's window down and was in Dynamic mode accelerating hard down a slip road to join the A38. As I squeezed the Up Shift paddle to change from 2 to 3, there was a massive crack / bang from the back of the car - I must admit I did get a fright - I thought I'd just snapped a drive shaft or something, the noise was that unexpected. A bit bit like a rifle being fired.

Anyway, it turns out if was the exhaust as I was able to do it again.

In Dynamic mode, the exhaust is noticeably louder than in Comfort mode, when driving normally, in particular when on overrun when it pops. Off the throttle down a steep hill (at say 30mph), on overrun it's merrily popping away to itself, presumably due to unburnt fuel exploding in the hot exhaust system. Does the RS6 use fuel to cool the pistons on overrun like my old 911 Turbo used to?

I think it might be too loud for me in Dynamic (I'm 48) while driving normally, but the younger folks would probably love it. It'll come into it's own on an empty road in the Highlands though, I bet.

I love it too in Comfort mode when I start it up - it's quite loud and then settles down to a quiet warble. The exhaust finishers look nice too.

Help - I need a dummies guide to exhaust options!

It’s all subjective in the end and videos unfortunately don’t really convey real sound of systems. I thought Akra was a great but the heard one in person including cold start and is sounded quite mute and a little tinny.

Milltek on the other hand is just loud, not even sure I’d say it has any tone.

Mike’s solution worked well in the centre muffler and resonator delete but I wanted use of valves so to increase sound I found a set of lightly used APR Downpipes for £1k fitted which is way less than any aftermarket system. If you are considering remapping it may be an option for you as you’ll need the O2 sensors coding out.

Now in comfort it is as quiet as OEM with the occasional bark when you plant the throttle / the valve open in dynamic it is loud and pops /burbles to your hear is content. not as loud however as straight pipe as I managed to experience the exhaust without catback and it’s NASCAR V8 loud. downside with mine is that is can occasionally sound a little raspy in low gear / high Rebs and then throttle lift off

If APR come up with the goods it may be the best sounding system yet. on the subject of exhaust tips Akra makes it look like an S6 with quad exits, don’t care that it has a carbon fibre surround and Milltek just looks aftermarket, not only can you see the silver quad pipes but also the back boxes without having to get on your knees to look down the ovals. With what I have I retained the OEM look at the rear if that is important to you, have my doubts about the APR system in this respect.
