Re: Coilovers?
i would say try it and see-i"m happy enough with mine as it is
however if i happen to meet somebody in my travels with b14 and arbs i am open to being converted, they are not very expensive [in rs4 terms anyway]
i am on 275/30 which may stiffen up the car a little too though

iirc most if not all 335d come with the horrid m sport suspensionmarc1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2017 11:00 amDifferent cars mate. Was your 335d an SE or M Sport. How many miles, what was the state of the suspension bushes, what tyres were they, what was the thickness of OEM ARB's on the Beemer, did you do front and rear or one or the other. If one, was it just the front as it is a RWD car after all... too many variables...
mine had both eibach arb-front and rear
tried 18" and 19"
bushes fine-although the rear arms have trouble coping with the torque of a mapped 335d[needs the m3 kit]
i do know its somewhat different from an rs4 though
Re: Coilovers?
^ if the M Sport suspension is horrible, I'm not surprised adding further stiffness to it didn't help. Bilsteins and KW are very compliant.
Like you say, try it and see. We are all different after all.

Re: Coilovers?
So the stealer
phoned back yesterday, letting me know that they'd re-pressurised the system and there were leaks from the fixed and flexible pipes, even sent me a nice video showing the where the leaks were. At this point I'm thinking 'I can get away with just replacing the pipes' but, then she goes on to say that the pipes are more than likely going to be seized onto the front shocks so, I'd need to replace them as well, total estimated cost..........£6000+!!!!! Once I stopped laughing, I told her I'd just come and pick the car up
Was going to head to Revolution in Newcastle to get the B14s fitted, unless someone can recommend somewhere in Glasgow that would be up to the task?

Re: Coilovers?
to fit the b14 to an rs4 is a pretty standard task tbh
any garage should be more than up to the job-it will lower the car a fair bit from the standard height[even with the b14 set at their highest] so a geometry re-set will most likely be required too
whatever and whoever you chose its going to be a lot cheaper than 6k!

Re: Coilovers?
As above...
Any decent local indy should be able to fit them.
See if Revolution can get them shipped up to you for the beginning of next week...

Re: Coilovers?
also even a basic spanner monkey could do it -so if you are into a bit of d.i.y...put a day aside and crack on
make sure you have a few jacks though -particularly for the rear
