Check that both tap and touch are not activated at the same time:

6D – Trunk electronics
Security access – 16 = 12345
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(4)-Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key-Tap function for closing) from not active to active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(3)-Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key-Touch function for closing) from active to not active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(4)-Activation using rear lid remote unlocking switch-Tap function for closing) from not active to active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(3)-Activation using rear lid remote unlocking switch-Touch function for closing) from active to not active

This will result:

remote opening – long press - touch
remote closing – short press - tap
door closing – short press – tap

Touch = long press is set for opening to prevent accidentally opening the hatch.
Cool will give this a bash

I see comfort is not activated. I know the handles have proximity sensors I wonder if they have all the comfort gubbins anyway no way it can be that easy. worth a try though.

Yeah will easy give you a shout when next in Edinburgh. not sure when it will be though.

Boot now fully working.

Opens and closes from inside car with switch.

opens and closes using the keyfob. no need to hold button down the close, just hit the button and it closes, you also get an reversing type alarm but its not that loud so no issue. The indicators also flash. The fob does not seem to open the boot when sitting inside the car (weird) it will close but not open it. maybe a safety thing?

I also enabled the chirp when I lock the car. nit very loud but enough to tell you its locked. There is now an option on the MMI to turn it on and off that was not there before.

Tried to enable the hidden menu but need to figure out the correct option. The info I have is saying number 6 but there are a huge number of options and several number 6's that don't look like hidden menu's.

You can disable the lorry reversing noise if you wish.

I've just done this on mine and I changed some of the wrong settings to start with I think.
At the minute this is how it behaves:
With the ignition on:
a short press of the door switch will open, stop or close the boot depending on which was it is moving at the time i.e 1 press will start it opening, press agan will stop it, then another press will close it. A longpress doesn't do anything other than the boot responding to the short press.
The remote will not open the boot with the ignition on, but if already opening it will stop it and another press will close it, a long press once it has already partly opened will continue opening until you stop pressing the button.
With the ignition off:
long press of the remote will open the boot (even if you let go half way through). a short press will stop it, another short press will close it.
I can't remember what the door switch did in this instance, I'll need to double check.

Is this how everyone elses works or have I got a wrong setting somewhere? I'm guessing the remote boot opening is disabled when the ignition is on to stop you accidentally opening when in your pocket.

Not tried much other than opening and closing all the way.

Mine won't open or close with the fob with ignition on

Other than that, one short click opens and closes the boot with switch on drivers door or fob

OK, great, it was the one with the ignition on I wasn't sure about. You'rs does the same as mine i.e. with the ignition on the remote doesn't open the tailgate.
one short click open and closes from the drivers door switch same as yours but I need a long press on the remote to open and a short to close which is how I want it.

Thanks Paul

Weird how they are different.

Short click on driver door or fob opens and closes mine. Not tried long click. Will try tomorrow and see
