There are different methods people favour, but I like to loosen the glue on the back by pouring water from a kettle over then sliding a thin plastic card behind (credit/store card etc) to help lift one part of the badge, pour some more hot water and as the glue releases slide the card under further (like a gentle sawing action) and the badge will lift off (do not pull at all costs); other people have used hot air guns, fishing line to go behind the badge, which is the same principle. Depending on how stubborn it is, the backing tape will lift off with badge or you maye be left with some on the paint, then use a glue/ tar remover (I use Tardis) then to apply several times and let this sit for a while to start loosening/ disolving and then wipe clean, but some 'gentle' agitation with a microfibre is required. Then I go over the whole area with a paint cleaner (such as Autoglym SRP is perfect for the job), reapply any lsp protection ypu wish to apply and job done
