Yep. Case of if she didn't acknowledge it then it didn't happen. I had to be at Chemo anyway so couldn't have gone chasing off after her and besides, she had kids in the car and would have most likely been terrified if I had done that.

I was carrying good speed but not excessive (the exact amount needed for a normal quick entry on to the clear roundabout) and it is a local roundabout I have tackled a good few thousand times before over the last 15 years. Just bad luck but that all I have been getting recently, heyho..

Thats a bugger Nick. Hope you get it sorted.

As for me, well no news doesn't mean good news. The gritting company haven't sent me a smidge of anything in the last 2 weeks, not even acknowledged my correspondance which is pretty bad customer service. If I don't hear anything for the rest of the week then I will either instruct my insurance company to pursue a claim against them or worst case pay up the excess and get it fixed.

I might be inclined to monitor the speed of the gritter lorries and report them if needed. Possibly formally complain to the contracts team about their behaviour which could, shall we say, have a detrement to their likelihood of another contract award ;)

Update:

I've managed to persuade my insurers to use Autofarm (an old skool Porsche specialist just down the road from me) to carry out the repairs. Their estimates were over £2k, and although I won't get a courtesy car I'm more than happy with the quality of their work. They are going to provide me with a photo journal of the repair too. Its booked in for next week sometime. Yay!

In the meantime my insurance company have formally written to the other parties insurance and made a claim. Whether they accept it is another matter.

My car has been in the garage for over a week now and although it looks super on the photos the garage want to do a bit of blending into the wings.

I've heard people mention before that the bumpers often look a slightly different colour. Is this true or should a good paint Shop be able to match spot on?

From the photos it looks so much better with the new grills :kissmyrings:

Glad to hear the car is almost there Nobby. You will hopefully have it back just as mine goes bye bye for the foreseeable.

Most Audi's i looked at when buying an S4 and RS6 had different coloured bumpers Chris, mine does but that's after the wife modified our old bumper and i had the new one sprayed off the car. Shopp has seen someone take a sample pic of paint and mix it to match. Glad the car is almost done mate.
