Another quick update

After the tubi, milltek decats and bmc filter it was time to get some extra horses :D

Thanks to Grizz and Lee for fitting the tubi and decats :thumb:

From day one looking for cars i have had Lee (Mutantfatcat) helping me taking me to see cars and checking them over,i am good with paint and acccident damage
but not mechanical issues.

He has ran a few maps and the last one he ran was the best in his opinion so i was very happy to go with his recommendation..
Yesterday i went to JBS and had the phase2 vvt time attack (i think its called
I had a good day there apart from having to park next to 2 supercharged ones :P  .i found them to be very helpful spending lots of time explainging all the work.
They checked the car over to find no issues, which is always good then installed the map and then went out and tweaked it to get the best out of my car.
I have only driven home, about 30 miles in total but it did feel smoother and noticebly quicker mid range.I look forward to testing it some more :thumb:

Quick question Jules: do you get in and out of the car when it's in resting position or can you control the height with a remote fob? You must have double jointed legs to get in and out of that thing without looking like Lindsay Lohan!
No matter where you go, there you are.

Ow one thing i forgot to mention,i asked the lad doing the map and runs in the car between tweaks what he thought of the air.

He was shocked and said he thought it was on coilovers,he was really suprised how well it handled and how nice it was to drive,i
told him i tell people that but no one ever believes me,It made my day anyway

I believe you Jules, air suspensions do have to compromises but they can be made to be very good. The Mercedes S Class is on air suspension and it handles really well for such a big car, the Williams F1 team was dominating the F1 scene in the early 90’s and they have to ban it because it worked so well.

I do agree that a very good conventional setup is better than most air, but it can be very good too.

Totally agree,no way can it be as good as the best coilovers etc,but unless tracking how much does that matter.

I went with Lee in his for a litttle photoshoot and he had to crawl over the speedbumps and i mean crawl, but his does sit really nice and low
just as i would static.I said now heres a good example for air lol

I've had a Mercedes CLS500 and regularly use of a S500, they are both on air suspension and they aren’t sport cars, yet they preform really well.
