In summary, if
  • your cruise control will not work
  • the starter button must be held down until engine starts (normally just a quick push)
  • you find your gear changes are not as smooth as they used to be
then your clutch switch needs replacing. Easy to do yourself, I have attached the instructions I used but I found the job to be easier than the instructions make it sound (and you do not need 3 hands as they say). Takes 10 minutes including replacing panel.

I don't normally tinker with the RS4, I have just done mine myself and it is a very satisfying feeling.

i too have the same problem and need to do the exact same thing....a big thumbs up rsowner

im a lot happier i spent time going through the forum now
