Actually, cash from insurance is 20k, cost of buy back is £7k leaving me £13k. Seats off eBay £1700, other bits to fix damage £500
Result - happy

I don't get it, if they valued the car at £15k why would they then sell it to you for £7k as that now means they paid out £13k instead of £5k if they had parted the car.

Insurance companies will only buy new parts, if they can't get them then they write it off.

I love eBay this week, it's done me proud! The seats are not the right colour but getting them re-trimmed isn't going to break the recently topped up bank
