They do and I have personal experience with them! About 5 years ago I I was very short of money at one point and the STI5 was due for tyres badly so as a stop gap I bought a set of LingLongs all round. OMG how outright dangerous but brilliantly fun these were!!!!Shoppinit wrote:Ling Longs...

They were ok on a 4wd car in the bone dry but the moment there was even a drop of water on the road they became like ice. After the initial fear of going out in the damp/wet/cold with these I got used to them and bloody loved them, I could 4wd drift practically everywhere and did so at every opportunity. Kept them on for the best part of a year as a result. Really taught me a lot about drift handling

have to chip in here. My brother works for a Ling Long dealer here in Perth, WA, but they specialise in heavy truck and tractor tyres. I know our beasts are heavy, but not that heavy!
If you want to see heavy tyre use and a good ad for Nissan pickups, check out this video clip; Happened recently in US. The driver of the nissan pickup could easily handle a RS6!

Re: sideways
No word of a lie, swear on my dead aunty's clunge and all that. Even found the model number, LingLong L688. Amazing memories of those rolling killers. The 720 was on the slip road coming off the A3 in Guildford on to the A31 towards Farnham. Gave it some beans coming on to the sliproad for a little drift as nobody was around, just before it turns sharp right only to find a car broken down in the fast lane of the sliproad just as it bends around. Slammed on the anchors, the LingLongs had other ideas, ended up fishtailing around the broken down car and that was the start of a beautiful 720.Rupert wrote:Mr Footlong wrote:They do and I have personal experience with them! brilliant story Mr Footlong.
Ended up pointing the way I started and kept on going, minus a tiny argument with an I beam on a barrier and the rear exhaust pipe getting dented
By the end of my run with the LingLongs I could practically drift those bastards anywhere, at least they did that well and hardly wore down due to being made out of compacted granite or something even harder. I miss those days when I had more hair on my head, less hair on my back/palms and didn't think collecting BA Miles and triple Clubcard points was cool.....
/EDIT - Check it blud - http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Linglong/L688.htm - Nice!
