A follow-up to this problem:

This problem was rather sporadic and was getting worse and worse as you'd expect if the gearbox was failing. But, having obtained a Vagcom and reset the error, I haven't seen it since.
At no time have I felt that there is anything mechanically wrong with the box....so, are Audi feeding their dealers by 'making up' problems?

Take it ATF level is all fine!
Daytona RS6 Avant, PSS9, Milltek system with 100 cell, Wagners & hoses, MRC map / 533 ps & 865 nm. Phaeton Ducts. Daily drivers / VW T5 and R1.
