Are you sure it isn't a TDi with an RS4 badge on the boot? :bigblink: :assflash:

Cant be for strength as its the inner wings that take the forces, also the bonnet has nothing to do with the strength as that is only hinged in 2 places with a catch on the front so no integral strength there either, sorry to have opened this can of worms, i couldnt give a toss if im honest i had my RA round tracks and on the quarter mile and raced similar Subarus with same horsepower etc and cant say it ever give me an advantage nor would it on road and everyday situations slightly lighter maybe but not enough as to make any difference in straightline speed or on the track, and as for the difference between a cab and saloon again negligable id say, i would happily drag the car against any standard saloon and there would be more issues on how much carbon build up you had as appose to who had a cab or saloon, just for pub talk im afraid, horses for courses i prefer fast cabs as being a biker i like the "outdoor feel" not everybodies bag but thats why you have choice a spose :D

I remember a few weeks back someone posting about bubbling paint on the wings and asking whether it was the onset of rust.

Can't remember who it was or what variant they had but this thread makes me think.

I would either give Audi Germany or UK a call and see what they have to say surely they should know... also does it clearly state in one of the books or pamphlets for the RS4 cab that it as aluminium bonnet etc... if it does then id be throwing my toys out the cot...

My Avant is def allly can feel it in the weight of the bonnet - presumably don't have to close a cab bonnet as forcibly then ?
