Spa is far better than the 'Ring for track action as you can push a lot more - but Ring is more for the crack and the experience of building up laps..........I'm reliably told by someone that at least 100 laps before you can push properly at the Ring.

I think public days arent too bad as youre already on your guard for idiots and i've never really driven more than 7/10ths their anyway as too much can go wrong if you run wide or worse still kiss a barrier :(

Certainly worth doing 1 gentle lap of the ring to say that you've done it - just dont let the red mist take over and you will be fine, its when the hot hatch goes flying past you on a blind crest you find it hard to resist :FIREdevil:

I would need to convince not only myself but the wife to take the RS4 on the track, I agree the Nurburgring is more for the experience rather than trying to set your best lap time.

I am a possible maybe.

Never drink and drive but a trip to the Ring is a great opportunity to have a few drinks, talk sh!t and soak up the atmosphere. IMHO this kind of trip should be for fun and avoid BTG Ring Daddy scoreboard attempts. Seem plenty of offs in the past and some of them were really not pretty.

I hope I can change my "maybe" to "defo" :D

Sonny / Paul - bad news - its a no from me

spoke to the missus about it, and she dont want to come ... and she had a massive go at me for even contemplating going ! LOL

its the wkend after we get back from a 4,000 road trip to Greece ... MRC Rolling Road day the wkend after, and we're all going for the Spa trip a few weeks after ... chuck in Football season starting (im a season ticket holder) she put her foot down

There's the added complication of the car going into the bodyshop

and i dont have a money tree in my garden (need to get me one of those)

sorry lads

bad news aka......
just for the record this is supposed to be a male only event, swearing looking at women in the pits etc etc..

Lisa (aka Mrs Revolution) has wanted to go for the last 5 times and i've refused on the grounds of cost (as i always double up with someone), danger and the foul language blokes use..!
If anyone is planning on taking their other half you will blow my cover for ever - get a mate to come along and it will half your costs.
