Should start a campaign where unhappy RS/S owners can send that picture to Audi UK to express our disappointment and frustration at the performance of their dealer network.

The thought did cross my mind.
At VW they had specialist dealers for Touareg and Phaeton
They have specialist RS sales people at the biggest dealerships including the one I went to so why not have specialist service people? Cos they already have your £50k?

I have just purchased an RS4 from the same dealership that Neckarsulm had his car serviced at.

I found out today via a letter from the DVLA that they have either lost or did not have the V5 and have applied for a replacement. This un-nerved me a little so I rang Audi to check if the car details had been updated with them. To my dismay I found the following:-

The car has been registered with the incorrect registration ** 0Y *** instead of ** 07 ***. (How can you have a letter in the registration year?) This made identifying the car with Audi rather difficult so I tried the VIN number from the sales invoice. To add insult to injury I found that this too was incorrect
Car service history has not been updated even though the car was serviced 6 weeks ago.
Car ownership details were updated the day after I took delivery but all left blank.

One word to describe them... incompetent

I am going down to the dealer on Monday to meet with the Head of Business to convey my concerns and disappointment. At this stage it is highly unlikely I will return to this dealership but I will reserve final judgement until I hear what they have to say on Monday.

SW0080 was a service campaign IIRC that was automatically done/offered on all RS4s.

SW0090 is an "on request only" item and will only be done if the customer complains of smoky cold starts and rough running after cold starts.

AFAIK all RS4 SW has to be downloaded directlyfrom Audi AG (maybe even quattro gmbH) servers onto the car

Thanks Killa, I read that before I went and told him it's a request not a service campaign.
Mind you bboy above is still on SW0030 and he's had 2 services since mine was updated to SW0080, not a happy bunny :dung:

you know what, I checked my MOT history and mine too had misting noted at last MOT by another Audi dealer.
I should point out that when I booked by email I told them I specifically wanted DRC inspected and SW0090 and they had 2 weeks to sort it - unfortunately the advisor I dealt with by email wasn't the dozy tw4t who I had to endure in person

I emailed the service manager of a different Audi Centre, Halesowen Audi this evening at 2136 requesting that I get a new key coded, software update and DRC inspection done. He emailed me back at 2202 and said yes to key and not heard of SW0090 but will look into it on Monday.
So far so good...

At Camberley we have dedicated RS service advisors and i know what SW0090 is :),it is a shame other dealers dont have the same system, but then i suppose they dont see many unlike us

Chaucer,

Do your dedicated RS advisors also deal with S owners?

Probably stating the obvious but if anyone comes across a dealer that has not heard of SW0090, why not refer them to Camberley Audi for more info. It seems mad that one dealer knows all about this but others have no idea.

On a related subject I called the Audi Centre at Halesowen today and found the service manager could not be more helpful. Very professional and knowledgeable. Will definitely take my car there for its next service. Have given up with Birmingham Audi after recent experience. Seems they are too busy doing volume business than providing any customer service.

On the strength of just an email, the Halesowen Service Manager Phil Gadsby has already sent off a report to Audi Technical on my behalf to get clarification on what 0090 does, all he needed was the mileage.
He said 0080 was for smoke 0090 was for misfires, I pointed out that excess fuel can cause both and that's when he said he'd look into it.

It's one thing not knowing there and then, it's another just saying "you are wrong, end of" as was the case with Birmingham Audi. It's a low blow but maybe they'd see more RSs if they didn't get stolen when in for a service.

My understanding is that only a Master Technician works on resolving an issue on an RS?
I believe we also get charged a slightly higher labour rate as an RS owner, presumably to cover the higher salaries!
I think the issue comes with the fact that, depending on your dealership, Master Techs initially diagnose a fault then wander off and go and do something else more interesting leaving the chap who washes the forecourt cars to sort it out!
As there are fewer of them (MT) I think time pressures mean RS owners don't always get their services...
