Don't worry about lack of Bose - it is rubbish in my 2008 S4. I have a 2009 Mazda with Bose that is far better than that in my Audi.

My S4 has an OE Ipod adapter in the glovebox where the CD changer would sit. It uses the same interface as the CD changer and is also absolute rubbish. Very poor sound quality and the head unit interface is terrible - I can't even recall how useless it is as I gave up on it and haven't used it in ages. The RNS-E does have SD card slots which are not too bad.

Why do you want to plug in an iPhone, music or calls?

Calls- get a Bluetooth module
Music- best option is an Alpine interface

For the music. Is there an Alpine which matches the audi dash lighting - I hate daft looking headunits !!
