i'm not sure but I think there's a new generation version about, which is the supposed replacement - that's probably broken too!

I'll believe it when I see it.

What I mean is, I'll believe the 'new' DRC is reliable when I see it. Or don't see failures, rather.

Does anyone know what's new in it, if anything?

I had 6 week old DRC when I bought my car, it had complete system replaced (all shocks and valves) but still failed again after only another 6 weeks (3 months and less than 2k miles, shows up DRC for what it was, S**t!!).
Signs on mine were obvious with oil all over my driveway from front shock, but skipping rear you describe is definately a symtom.
Mine was replaced with H&R coilovers under warranty which are great and worry free.
If you can get it replaced by Audi for free go for it, but don't expect it to last. If you are paying, ditch it for coilovers (1.5k well spent).

Well, Ive booked my car into Southampton Audi Thursday morning to look at the suspension. Was going to go to Camberley but SA is only 3 miles away so I thought I'd give them a go!

Convenience of 3 miles is great i have a main agent 5 miles and 9 miles from me but i wouldn't even let them change the battery in my key fob now/let alone diagnose faults on DRC or anything for that matter....I would rather drive down to Camberley Audi to Rob/Stuart, MRC (both 200 mile round trips) or even Unit 20.

From my experience no other places come even close, you ll end up going to above in the end...

Good luck at Southampton Audi hope all goes well.

Mine missed out by a few months unfortunatly on the Audi goodwill, but if you are on a timescale before it gets past the 6 years i would personally get it Camberely asap, your wasting your time elsewhere.

Mine has been at my local stealers for 6 weeks in the 20 months that i have owned it, its better but the DRC is a great concept but in reality is <beep>...I am saving my pennies now till i can rip the DRC out and replace with something that works and then dump the DRC in a box outside Audi UK..

ok you're worrying me now. do i cancel tomorrow and rebook with camberley. has anyone ever (lol) had dealings with Southampton Audi??? Ive had my others cars there and they have been fine. Surely only Camberley Audi cant be the only decent dealers for RS6 in the south or maybe the country????

Sorry dude didn't mean to put the fear of god in you, Rob and Stuart are top blokes and when it comes to Main Dealers they are way out there by a country mile.

Most of the Stealers haven't even got the tool to repressuries the system properly....I am sure Southmapton Audi are great on normal stuff but i would personally ask them if they have any RS trained mechanics there as the once at my stealers are not that clued up and i feel 9 times out of 10 i know more then them and that usually talking to there top tech there as i refuse to talk to anyone else.

As i said above mine spent 6 weeks in at my local dealer and they still couldn't get it right all i am doing is speaking from my experience took it to Camberley and they sorted the DRC and other issues and also kept me in the loop at all times.

Hopefully someone will be along soon to back me up...

hmmmm I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. only cos if they turn out good then its just 3 miles away. but then again, the best policy is usually to listen to recommendations from guys like yourself who have been there and had the good or bad experiences. after all, otherwise, whats the point in me asking if im not going to take advice. mind made up. im going to cancel SA tomorrow and book to Camberley. Best to go with the majority. I want the car sorted properly (nothing personal to Audi Southampton) but its my car and my money!

I only go off the recommendations on here to so don't thank me....Thats why forums like these are so good.

My wife uses the car all week ferrying our kids around all i want is peace of mind that the car underneath them is 100%, peace of mind from a good dealer like Camberley, MRC and UNIT 20 are what make me sleep at night knowing there car is doing what it should and obviously when i am let loose in the car on wednesday night when i go training and at weekends :D

Good luck and let us know how you get on.....

I'm going on holiday actually but have it booked in at Tonbridge early august - I might see what they say and then go to Camberley!
