No-Go on Warranty Work
RE: Re: No-Go on Warranty Work
22K on the clutch.
The Brembos came with the braided lines supplied. Pics soon.

The new discs, apart from being bloody monsters, have much larger holes drilled through which no doubt helps the cooling and perhaps will avoid them getting blocked. I have kept the same (original) calipers. APS recommended I stick with the original Audi pads rather than Pagids as I'm not going to be tracking the car.P_G wrote:Are the standard RS discs not Brembos anyway as well as the calipers? So what is the difference with the new Brembo discs and are you using the OEM calipers with them?
If the original discs are Brembos (which I would doubt) then they have clearly been wrongly spec'd for this car.
The original pads are Pagids mate, I guess they mean rather than upgraded to a better pagid pad like blue or yellows!karl wrote: APS recommended I stick with the original Audi pads rather than Pagids as I'm not going to be tracking the car.

IIRC the caliper and disc assembly was formulated for Quattro GmbH by Brembo because the calipers are the same as the Porsche 996 ones. That's why I was curious about the disks, whether indeed they were 385 mm discs rather than what we have which is 365mm and the OEM are 2mm crossdrilled wheras the 385mm are 3mm crossdrilled holes.karl wrote:The new discs, apart from being bloody monsters, have much larger holes drilled through which no doubt helps the cooling and perhaps will avoid them getting blocked. Have you got part numbers on your invoice from APS? I would go to them but they are a tad bit far for me just to 'pop by' to.
Hi Graeme, it is a big brake upgrade, they use a spacer to sit the caliper back to allow the extra 20mm. A friend of mine has just done this with Pagid Grey pads and is raving about them.......... Going to see him in a weeks so will take some pictures for you all. As Karl says the holes are alot bigger and as aposed to the standars disc which has 3 in a line they have 4. Look the business!
