Audi are aware of the issue. As for the B7RS4, they are exactly the same, and have issued a statement to the people who wrote to Jeremy Hicks and complained, that Audi will extend the warranty on the DRC for 5 years from sale........

Dear Ged,

Are you planning on taking action yourself or are you a solicitor hoping to act in future for others following a test case? I'd be interested to hear how you plan to take matters forward; is it some sort of 1979 Act point in relation to the DRC not being fit for purpose?

Thanks,

Greg

I am putting my shocks etc back to Audi tomorrow after H & R coilvers from Grizz delvered and put on by my local garage. Superb. Car is planted. Delighted with result. Will let you know what Audi say and if they will refund the money I have spent, sorry , wasted, getting the shocks and valves replaced . If negative result, which I fully expect, I am right behind you.

I'm with You, had all four shocks replaced by Audi at 26,000 miles (they wouldn't replace the valve as they couldn't see any signs of failure so the noises and poor handling never improved.) Been to the stealers Three time in the last Six Months trying to get it sorted. and have now changed warranty company from Audi to Warranty direct who have given me written confirmation that I can replace the crap DRC with aftermarket coil overs (they seem to know all about the problem with the RS6 DRC system) so I'm just waiting for the shocks to fail again so I can get the job done correctly.
Audi's Techs (down here in Cornwall anyway) just dont seem to be able to do the job correctly.

<Raises hand> Mine failed in 2006, inept repair (dealer replaced shocks, but did not replace central valves first time). After valve replacement, continued to drive like crap. Opted for coilovers 2007.

I have had 28 shocks and 16 valves replaced in 54,000 miles. All under warranty.
It must be a crime to continue to charge a fortune for something new that they know will fail again because it is faulty, yes?

Now that is seriously insane!!! Don't you get fed up with going back all the time? What's stopped you from going for some coilovers?

I bought my RS6 Avant new in 2003.
In the summer of 2007 I had to have the DRC replaced front and rear. Even with a goodwill gesture from Audi UK, the bill was very hefty. I do have paperwork and copy correspodence. The front or rear were then replaced again within the warranty of the set that I paid to have replaced. I then took the view that my safety could only be guaranteed by fitting an alternative system. I opted for a Bilstein system.

Well, its been frustrating but I am so pissed at Audi for trying to sweep this under the rug that I get a kind of sadistic revenge from making them have to pay for these repair attempts.. and they still cant return it to the firmness and zero rebound it came with. Still rides like an A6. When it worked new it was terrific.. I guess I am hoping they will accidently get it right one day..
