Gentleman & co...

I was going to meet the DR guys tomorrow with my car but last night on the way home the car has (yet again) developed an issue with the lower drag links.

The car has been into Audi twice in the past for recitification of the issue and it looks like their modified suspension part has not done the job.

To this end, I've had to pull out of the DR shoot-out as I'm not really happy lending them anything other than a 100% healthy car.

I'm sure the DR guys would be grateful for someone to step into the breech....

People of the DR,

I go back to work tomorrow after having a week off so getting it off at this late stage may be difficult!

That said, after seeing the weather due in tomorrow around the cheptow area I would dearly love to have an RS4 included in your test as i (we!) fancy our chances :D

Please pm me a contact number and dependant on what time you are commencing your jolly i will do my best to make it, even for a few hours.

Well no one has contacted me which is a real shame. As I type this it is absolutely bucketing down sideways and blowing a gale - I reckon the old girl would have given the 'new breed' a thing or two to think about on the roads today

Sorry we didn't get back to you pippyrips, as you can imagine last week ended up being very busy and Chris doesn't work in an office by his laptop. He responds much better to phone calls, but otherwise views most emails on his iPhone. Chris has a unique reputation amongst the DR team for jinxing office technology, he once broke our water supply just by walking near the sink..

Anyway, we managed to complete the test in the end and the feature is now available to read. The videos and telemetry laps will be viewable in the next few days.

As usual any questions, just ask. I brought my M3 CSL along to the Silverstone laps, and despite it's poor health it still showed what an old-timer can accomplish.

Great fun as always.

This week we are on the GT2 vs Scuderia vs LP560 group test, so there's no rest for the wicked..
