Think we need a better way of recording DRC issues...
Cheers. I suspect, with DRC issues, a visual inspection would indicate a problem far more easily than a road test! I think Ill suggest that the tech just takes a look at it. Im assuming that if it is a DRC issue and its got to the point of clunking, then the problem should be obvious through an inspection?

Well you can add another to the list! The Master Tech in Bristol Audi has taken it out and confirmed a DRC failure on offside front. He said the problem was very mild at the moment, but since its not going to get any better they would replace. Waiting to be booked in.

The Master Tech did seem to know his stuff about them. He said he saw many RS6's come in, not so many B7 RS4's. He confirmed about the need to replace valves when you change a shock etc. I hope the replacement I get will be the revised one, which will hopefully be less prone to failure.

I really hope so, as of this afternoon I will have the new versions of the struts all round, lets hope these last longer than the 1 month the previous ones lasted!
Mine are being/have been fitted by Camberley, they are very knowledgeable when it comes to RS's, so it must be the product rather than the way it is installed...
But as they say - all 10's are high maintenance

Hi all, Sadly my first post on this site has to be a -ve one. I have just put my RS4 Avant in for its first scheduled service today and asked for the DRC to be checked having become increasingly aware that the handling seems to have deteriorated with a slightly floaty feel and the appearance of the dreaded knocking noise. Technician has confirmed my fears and I am having this dealt with hopefully tomorrow. Also about replace my Pirellis all-round, general consensus would seem to be the Goodyear F1s, but what do people think of the vredestein ultrac sessantas? Bearing in mind that I struggle to find a dry road in my neck of the woods!

DRC issue is general knowledge, cant honestly say where I picked it up. Unable to comment as to whether or not the dealer would actively check and warn since I raised the issue. As an aside have gone for it and ordered the 275/30 F1s to try and cheer myself up- looking forward to see how they feel after the Pirellis.
I would appreciate those numbers. Im just about to book mine in to get them replaced. They'll order the parts at the same time, so I can ask them for the numbers as well, and compare.jackWood2 wrote:If anyone would like the part numbers for the new shock units, let me know and I can supply them. You will at least know you have the latest ones or not.
That sounds like rubbish. Why could they not give you the part numbers? If you went to the parts counter you would use the part number to order the shocks. I'm syre the number would be on the invoice anyway.
Tell them you only want them to do the work if they fit the new numbered parts. Why bother re-fitting sub-standard parts?
I'll PM you with the part numbers tonight. They are on my laptop, which is at home.
