Just renewed for £185 - car registered 31st Dec 2000.
Will also be exempt from the £25 emissions tax (congestion charge) - if Ken gets his way.
I think Evo missed an angle of the C-Charge of the most unlikely cars to dodge the £25 charge, but so far I can only think of pre 31/3/01 B5 RS4/S4 , Ferrari F40, and older 911's..

I was hoping you'd clarify thatYep Skyline's are 2.6 and most pre 2001
Is there a catch to sending your tax disc back for a refund on 28/2/09, getting a year's tax from 1/3/09 (you can get this 2 working days before end of month) thus saving 11 months of the increased rate?

Got this off a site so it looks like if you renew your tax on 1/3/09 you can swerve it for nearly a year.
"Changes to VED rates will take effect from 13 March 2008"
Interesting that they have timed it deliberately to hit people just before they get their reminders to retax for April - even more reason to cancel current tax and start again on 1/3 to scupper their plans

Yes - it's worth SORN-ing it in AUG [for a couple of days only], claiming back your outstanding tax and re-taxing it at the same time almost for 6 months - basically time it so your tax expires end FEB 09 and re-tax - at least you'll save 200 quid (-ish) for that year. Just a thought
31 May 01 for me - robbing bunch of to55ers
Go Gordon! - best thing that ever hapened to this lot.....not long to go now....

Avus B5 RS4 with St.3 MTM
Mine misses out by a month or so and it's annoying as they are the same fecking car!!!1 just older.
Makes me want to get an Alpina as they are capped at 185 based on the fact that they are a small car manufacters (in terms of numbers produced each year)
