The Basic Tracker was a no cost option on the RS6, however being an option, a good few customers didn't realise & therefore never ordered it, so a chunk of very early cars never had the box ticked.langstone wrote:The prescence of a tracker to lead the police directly to the vehicle is not a detterent then?Wolverine wrote:RS6s are apparently a favourite with armed robbers (fast getaway car with loads of space and relatively discreet).
I understood all uk rs6's had trackers fitted.

I had an i-Mob system fitted on the E60 M5 & that tbh was a corker, as i could not only cut the car dead at any given time (via my mobile), i could also call the car & speak to the thieves, warning them the police were on their way or that the car was about to be disabled. It also doubled up as a tracker unit in case the car was missing sometime before noticing.
Could also set the system up to call me if the car moved, or set it to call me once the car hit a certain speed (Audi technicians going racing). Can't recall how much it cost but the peace of mind was outstanding.
