Well I have been playing with this talex GPS unit and it is great
Very easy to use

Good thing is it gives you a ave speed and the top speed hit on that journey, can be reset
think of the fun you can have with that!

Great value too, I phoned Talex today and they sent me a spare power cable and mounting bracket for free!

well worth a look

In the end i got the Snooper Saphire. Generally because of its size. Not used it yet. Will let you know how I get on.

I've heard mix reviews on all Snooper products inc. the Sapphire. One's talked about most (probably due to being most popular) are the Road Angel models and Origin B2. Thinking of going the Origin route, but people keep telling me of a new model immenant now but have been waiting foir ages.

i've got the v1, with the adr kit to integrate it into the can bus so that messages and alerts appear on the dash. no requirement for the remote. also hardwired the mute into the dash using the roller blind switch to provide the circuit. it has a nice graphic that works. actually i've hardwired this switch through a relay to provide my garage opener as well...

 I must try harder, have never had that one.
My first full-power take off after fitting my RoadPilot Pro resulted in the front panel and electronics board landing up in the rear footwell, whilst the back panel was left attached to the mount!

A little bit of glue has resolved that problem - my RoadPilot is now 5 years old, and I would never want to be without it!

The RoadPilot keeps a log of your position every 10 seconds. This log can be downloaded to your computer, and gives you time/position/speed for every ten second interval. Additionally, you can click on any log entry and it will plot your position on a map.

Bit of an update. After having spent a few days with the snooper its actually ok. the sound is low, but I will live with that.

What was pissing me off was charging it up. I had it plugged into the pooter for 2 days solid and it would not get past 2 bars. It then lasted about 40mins.

I called snooper and they stated that the pc would only give it between 15-60% charge.

So after ranting at them for a while I asked the guy what it took up it :) 12V 500-1000ma

I have loads of those ajustable adaptors, so I plugged it on in against the advice of Snooper. 3 Hours later its fully charged. Had a good 3 hours out of it so far and its got 2 bars left :D
