I didn't actually say they were painted std calipers - I thought the GmBH upgrade on the RS4 included new calipers?? I have never seen Audi rings on OEM or aftermarker calipers for our cars, so either they just stuck the Audi rings on, or had them painted red and stuck them on then?? They look too small to be Brembos - even the 4-pots???

Worth investigating further if you're serious about this car, as at this price, everything needs to be top notch!
My mistake Nige

Like you I've never seen calipers with the rings on them. According to the GmbH "RS4 sport" brochure they only supplied pads and disks. But then JR's RS4 embossed seats aren't shown in the brochure just a non-embossed seat. So who knows what GmbH would have made up for you.

When you mention Brembos the profile of them is very similar to the Brembos fitted to my mates Fiat Coupe limited edition beastie.

O well I guess we'll find out soon enough? :?

it is the car i looked at , the brakes are movit fronts with the audi badges stuck on. it had no boost gauge when i looked at it . the owner gave me qst's number to check about the body damage which had been repaired badly and they were very vauge about who done it and why. the owner finally told me it had been stolen recoverd and the police rammed it of the road to stop it!!!!!. He also claimed that qst replaced the turbos because of excessive smoke.
the guy said he was from around the banstead area, quite an old chap sorry cant remember his name.although he did have a strange nickname. said he was'nt in the country alot and kim @qst had someone lined up for it to turn into track car. so it could possibly be another owner.
i am quite happy for you to ask him if he tried to sell it to a guy in wimbledon a while back ,but i dont think hell be honest with you.
i am positive this is the car like you say there cant be to many around that looks like this.

Would the name be Mario Cee?

Wouldn't stolen recovery appear on an HPI check? This is sounding more like a £20k car than a £30k car! Will stay well clear if confirmed and thanks for the heads up.

once again the value of being a member of RS246 has been proven.

just think how sick you would have been if you had bought that

I'm pretty sure Mario Cee had an S4 up for sale on PH roughly a week before this one came on, so sounds like he's a dealer..

That jogged my memory - I saw this car at QST about in June last year - was in their yard at the back, quite badly smashed up, had a hard front n/s damage and hardish o/s rear. (Quarter panel folded by the rear wheel arch). The then owners "strange" nick name was Booley I think.

Definitely a lucky escape from that one....

Funny how the bent cars seem to be up for more money than the straight ones...

Great detective works chaps - you've seriously done someone (perhaps not the seller tho) a favour there!

Kind of makes the "what the fcuk are those brakes" debate rather pointless now!

Can someone please pass on the chassis number etc.. to the RS4 register maintained on here with some of the facts about this car?

Lads, a bit late to this maybe, but I went to see this car last year too.

It was on oldish chap, who seemed quite nice. Booley was the nickname, as the e-mail address didn't add up. His real name was David something.

I asked him did the car have any accident history and with a straight face he said no. Never.

Being honest, I didn't notice the damage. But he wouldn't let me test drive the car, even though I had full license and proof of insurance.

I'm Irish, so when I got back I asked our MTM guy here to check it out. He got the truth and a big 'stay away' from QST. Much to their credit.

Also last yr, he was looking for 26999/ 27000 for the car.

Something should be done, so no innocent buyer gets burned. Potentially not a bad car, but should be circa 17-19 K....

If anyone wants further info, I may have contact details of this owner somewhere. QST should have the full story though....

Cheers,

Darragh

Good thread guys - it's for sale again http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/117951.htm for £27k

I thought it looked good at first with quotes like "MINT" and "under driven"... well they don't get driven much when they're being repaired I guess!

That's Mario's (Cee) car - Kim Collins knows that car well - he did some of the work on it (I was thinking about looking at it a while back)

It was stolen from his house at one point a while back but recovered pretty much straight away, only with a few scratches/dents that weren't there before by all accounts )

He's not had the car that long himself IIRC

(reading in more detailI can see I was right to not bother even going to see it...blimey - doesn't sound too pretty)

I've spoken with the Owner on EMail and he was interested in PX for my B7 but I went with a standard low mileage example instead.

I'm sure he will budge on that price.
