Post by fraser29 » Thu Feb 15, 2007 1:39 pm

I am struggling to get a premium below £1400.00 for Nige's old car noggy blue S4 avant due to the modds and an accident that i had last year. Greenlight wont even quote! Any ideas i am 30 this year so am getting old!

Noel Dazeley & Greenlight are the most obvious. Both are site sponsors.

I've got both the TT (list of performance mods an A4 sheet long) and the RS4 with Livingston Warmans. Also hear good things about A-Plan, but you need to go to the right people, not your local branch I think - http://www.aplan.co.uk/motor/car-insura ... hp?int=452 gets you a call back from the "performance and mods" boys.

Not sure if this helps any one.... but just got mine "tweaked first stage and brake upgrade - MRC" Currently insure through Direct Line and told them of my "intention" to upgrade. the key info they need to know, as I'm sure you know, is what % of the base HP your increasing by i.e 10% etc and also if you do brakes, suspension, wheels, body kit etc they must also know about it. Any claim you make or s/else against you, becomes completely void if they havnt been informed.

All in, it only added 87 quid a year to my premium with an excess of £525.
As i'm an old fart with max NCD protected and the misssus on the policy etc with a it comes now to about £653 though I still cant work out how they work out the monthly's ??

If any one can suggest any better than this, as I hate Direct Line  I'm all ears!

Cheers
