I think you have to display CCTV signs if you have camers, as I am advised its somthing to do with the data protection act.
Trespassers have to give consent to be filmed!!

For domestic CCTV and provided that it doesn't capture images from outside your land then you don't have to comply with the DPA and no signs are required.
That I think is a good example of the law being on our side for a change. You can have as many cameras as you want, and if you store the images off site, in my case they are ftp'd away to another location it's a nice secure solution

Good info, maybe my cctv chaps trying to skin me for some more cash by selling me a sign as well!!
It is a trade garage and the cameras cover a fair bit of the main road.
Caught a local pair seeing in the new year on a bonnet of a quattro. Have not had a chance to remind then of it yet. Should polish out!
