I think you will find that all car in UYS are dramatically cheaper than in Europe and so doing a straight currency conversion doesnt work. As an example here are the wexisting prices for an S4 Saloon in US and UK:

US - $45,850 (£23,880)
UK - £36,835 ($70,723)

So when you compare the relative prices they are 35% cheaper. Obviously the specs may differ slightly and you would need to compare OTR charges but it still means the US is heavily subsidised or looking at it another way we are heavily penalised!!
