did this on saturday. Didnt bother with the swan necks, just a drift and tapped it gently round. Whole job took just under an hour as i has to keep stopping for fresh air every couple of mins :biggrin2:
looks like the wire that acts as an earth on the original sender had worn and eventuall snapped. Can be easily repaired tho so i shouldnt have bothered buying a new unit but oh well.if someone wants a sender give me a shout, cheers for your help. Just got to do that CV boot next weekend!

Andy - how did you get into the actual tank? Do you have to drop it from the car or is there an inspection panel or somehting that I can remove?

hi rob,

if you pull your boot carpet up theres a metal panel held in place by three philips screws. Remove these and you have access to the top of the tank. I vacced and cleaned all the crap off the tank lid before going any further as you dont want any debris falling in. Then use a drift to tap the lid round as its on verytight. Once the lids off you can just about see the fuel sender (dont hold alighter over the tank for a better view!). Push the tab on the back of the sender and it lifts out. put your new on in, and enjoy. So good not having the needle goin up and down all over the place!if you want any help give me a pm, but its quite easy.
