Gav - no I was not locked up

Just a friendly wave at my bulging wallet - reduce thickness significantly or visit local "hole in the wall" receipt for "charity donation" another wave and we were on our way :bigwave:

@Gav : no mention of Assen in this 2004 catalog.
It's a 12 pages A4 booklet, very nice but all in German though.
Maybe Carl received it too and could help (events range from 320€ to 2,295€)

@Ken : what happened when u told them u didn't have your license (and would u advise fellow UK drivers to do the same when caught) ?

Hi Eric

The gendarme asked me three times in very good english for my drivers licence but I just fished out my passport, photocopy of insurance & photocopy of log book and he went away happy (licence was in my pocket just in case I was escorted to the nearest station!)

It looked as if they were pulling LOTS of english people and there was TWO more traps within ten miles!

Although when I returned to the road the "nag sat" sitting in the passenger seat took over from the cruise control :bash:

Still 608 miles from Dax to Calais in 8 hours with three pitstops and a 3/4 hour chat with the local Gendarmes was still a good average

Famous bit of road that one, I was following a group of bikes last year and decided to slow down, a few miles up the road and they were all pulled into a rest area, the nice french police even had a table and chair set up processing English drivers. I wish the English Police would do the same thing to the French on this side, might slow the Gendarmes up a bit :bash: What is the going rate these days for excesive speeding, used to be 500 yoyos?

...and i was pulled out last year on my way to st.tropez for speeding near lyon. i did a 200kph and lost my licence for 3 months. but the badest was that i had to pay 750 euros at the police station or they would have kept my car.

Rear set of Mov'its may be in order while Im there myself Tim, wonder if we give them a bit more notice this time they would be able to fit the rears for me there and then ready for Hockeinheim?
