Does lightweight mean flimsey - no luxuries?
Re: Does lightweight mean flimsey - no luxuries?
Funnily enough I was never convinced by the RS4s practicality as the rear leg room was tiny compared to other cars in the same class and without dropping the rear seats the luggage space was pretty poor as well. Cracking car all the same.

Hence my move from A4 Avant to A6 Avant (then to RS6 Avant!).Funnily enough I was never convinced by the RS4s practicality as the rear leg room was tiny compared to other cars in the same class and without dropping the rear seats the luggage space was pretty poor as well.

there was a e39 m5 touring available on the continent.same with a 4wd e-class and s-class.possibly amg models as well.
Re: Does lightweight mean flimsey - no luxuries?
They only built a handful of E39 M5 Tourings as concept vehicles and as far as I know they were never sold. I have heard of a couple of people who build their own by putting M5 mechanicals into an E39 Touring shell.

Re: Does lightweight mean flimsey - no luxuries?
Have checked with the guy who runs the most popular M5 website and he says there is one Silverstone E39 M5 Touring built specially for a BMW M Exec and thats the lot. Assume you have some evidence of the 40 E39 M5 Tourings that exist?

Re: Does lightweight mean flimsey - no luxuries?
Was a Touring (station wagon) version of the E39 M5 ever produced?
Although an E39 M5 Touring was considered and at least one prototype was constructed (in Titanium Silver with a Black Exclusive leather interior), BMW M decided not to produce an E39 M5 Touring due to financial considerations.
sorry,my mistake it was a fake that i had seen.damn yanks.

Thanx John.
Just collecting info for my mate who has just brought an M5.
I think he must know about the uk site as he told me about the mimms meet. Thought you might have known other sites he wasn't aware of though.
Cheers,
