I assume you did this with the chain still in place? how to did you depress/loosen the chain to get enough space to get it in? Mine feels really tight.

Sorry, no. Certainly I removed the cams and adjusters to access the bottom shoe. Would it be possible to do in situ? I don’t know since I put new chains on at the same time.
