That's the only negative thing I can think about from having one. Once my rattle had been fixed with a replacement frame under warranty.

As well as lightening the cabin, and letting the heat out when driving off on a hot sunny day, it is useful to leave it ajar, with the dark mesh sun blind across, when parked up, to safely and pretty securely have a way to prevent too much heat build up in the car in the first place. Its also an easy way to observe what's happening with the top box, bike racks and bikes on the roof bars and rails and that nothing (surf/wind surf/paddle boards, dingy, moth etc.) are shifting as you drive gingerly (not) along.

One more thing; it was good to be able to observe Golden Eagle and Osprey fly over-head when enjoying the wonderful roads on Skye and Scotland's other Western Isles and in the Highlands. : )

How much is the headroom reduced for the driver with a pan roof? My old c6 had a sunroof and it was annoying how low the interior roof was (kept catching the top of my head). I had to keep the seat position lower, but this was not my ideal driving position.

Perhaps it lowers the roof internally an inch, but I'm nearly 6' 2" and there's lots of room if I want/ in my ideal driving position, so it hasn't been a problem at all. Must say I am often switching between its different settings , depending on road speed/parked/weather, lighting, noise etc., etc..

I hadn't had one in my B7 RS4, but do love it, so would certainly miss it now.

My dealer tried to talk me out of it (I have one on my B8), extra weight and you'll never open it were his chief reasons, but I opted for it simply because of the effect it has on the cabin, though i still wonder if I've done the right thing.

Wife had one on here Q5 & it creaked like a bitch pretty much from new. Dealer performed a couple of fixes with one being a seal replaced & another i think just greasing it & both fixes lasted at best a couple of weeks. Drove us nuts & swore we'd never get one again.

On my FFRR it's a no cost option so seems pointless having the non Pano roof or the non opening one & so far it's silent, however given it's heavily tinted/darkened glass which i assume is the same for the RS6 (although i seem to recall on the Q5 it was quite clear glass), i very rarely open the blind so does make it somewhat pointless & as someone else said regarding the wind deflector, at motorway speed this flaps around a little which is a little distracting & thus when using it i only use the tilt aspect.

I have to say i use the tilt quite often, as getting older i appear to be more flatulent & find having the roof open a welcome cure to remove the unwanted glass.

Might want to go see a doctor, if dropping one does that much damage to your windows

Could always balance it out by upgrading your Miltek, to a lovely lightweight Akrapovic Ti exhaust system.

Best of both worlds then :nodder:
