The few trade deals on the m3 are not very inspiring and not getting any bite privately.

I spoke to oracle about finance options and they are really not bad and allows me to keep some cash in my locker but also looking at a loan to cover the amount. My profession just makes me very cautious so I had set myself a top figure which is why I was struggling to figure out where the values were with the used ones.
How much is your M3?

Around 16k. I have some cash sitting aside, but that's what I would like to keep. Its a short term thing - once my wife is back to work I would then pay down any loan/finance.

Let's get this done haha. Broached it with the mrs and she said "but you hate our BMW"...... i tried to explain the difference between a 120d and an m3 but she isn't buying!

Theres a few which look really nice on PH at the mo. A King Fisher Blue, A Missano and couple of limited editions. The King Fisher looks really nice.

I'd be tempted by a B7 and looking to release about 20k Image

I don't have acc though. That was one of my requirements because in my opinion it looks w@nk with what looks like 1 odd fog light.

Hi deano

Oddly, as my OCD usually gets the better of me, I quite like it the single radar unit :)

Your car does look very lovely, but think I'm going to hold out for the spec to be spot on.

(I'm also about to service the car and get a few jobs sorted on it, so suspect I may end up holding onto it for another 6mths to get some use out the likely expenditure :))

If you use the Kingfisher one even remotely normally you're going to lose a lot of money in 12mths. Needs black optics too IMO.

Misano looks great on these but again needs black optics. Redline had a nice one that was gradually coming down in price. Only hassle from my perspective was that I don't think it had the sport pack.

Ltd edition one is another that's way too expensive IMO and will hang around until the price drops. I also have a potentially irrational dislike of the silver painted lower front chn section and exhaust surround :) Each to their own though.

Am beginning to regret not getting on the phone to Audi Wakefield a couple of months ago (34k blue one with an all but perfect spec). But such is life :)

When looking for mine, I found an exclusive Racing Blue Mica example. Unfortunately it had no sports pack, so not being shy of a retro fit I got my dealer to price up the parts. They stopped to call me when it reached £7k and asked, do I really want to proceed any further. I politely declined.

It's worth holding out for the right car, as dropping £40k on an RS4 car with a Billy Basic spec, is silly. As they age, they'll become more mileage and spec sensitive.

Also I wouldn't worry about the singular adaptive cruise control eyeball. If that bugs you then don't buy an RS4, as the blanking plate located on the left steering wheel controls will bug you even more. There's no option available to fill that.

You're right on the wheel. I was tempted to fit these. I have the 6 coding for the favourite button:

I think the acc is much worse though. + i got my car for the enjoyment of it, i want to be in control of it and everything it does all the time. The dealer thought i was weird when i specifically told them to exclude cars with it Image

I guess that is why the prices vary, people are very specific when it comes to cars like this that you are buying on an emotional rather than functional level.

Yeah I did think about that, not sure the C7 A6 coding would work and give the functionality on the B8 though. Be nice if it did.

Shame your selling Deano, your input around here will be missed.

Thanks gents. That means a lot. I'll stick around as it's only temporary. Might even end up with a b7 if anyone fancies an upgrade

I'm glad you mentioned that as I did wonder :)

These things bother me in an irrational way.

The B8 also seems to have a button under the hazard one that goes unused? And a few other blank spaces in the centre console??

I assume it's hill hold assist that goes under the parking brake switch?

Correct on the HHA.

The one under the hazard switch is an indicator for when the passenger side airbag has been switched off. Cars with bucket seats don't have it (no isofix capability) and instead have a larger hazard light switch. I guess you could retrofit a large hazard light switch if that bothers you?

And that panel in the console upright has so many variants over the all the B8 models. The B8.5 which all RS4's are, get less buttons. The Drive Select previously took up the whole of one side, then on A5 Coupes the electric rear blind had a switch and then there is a traffic fuel saving engine Start/Stop deactivation button. Which was a system the RS4 never got - not to be confused with the silver engine Start/Stop you get with the Advanced Key/Keyless Entry option. All these, then have opposing variants for LHD or RHD markets which they'll be sold within. It would've been nice for Audi to lessen the blank switch count on that panel in the RS4 though, or at least give the required buttons reflectional symmetry to help appease the eye. I guess that's just mass produced cars for you

Ultimately though, just rev the engine out for a few gears and all that minor stuff goes away 8)

The RS4 pulls the pants down on so many other cars so well that you'd thought it was designed for just that. I've been to a few meets over the weekend and most are M drivers or RS3's and everyone commented on just how well the car looked and that they all love it! Audi nailed it certainly in the looks department set apart from the rest it is a car to behold, think before you depart with it! Screaming V8's are hard to find
