I mentioned in another thread that my local dealer (Vindis Audi at Huntingdon) has just sent two B8 RS4's to auction because they can't shift them at the moment. They said the market for them and indeed the RS6 is very very flat. If you are buying and are prepared to haggle I would imagine you can get some good RS4 bargains from dealers at the moment.

The only problem is there isn't much on the used site that really appeals to me. Maybe this one, although unsure about living with the light colour interior day to day:

But the price seemed high to me and I couldn't see that much room in the negotiation, I feel sub £40k would be about right for me. Do you think I am being realistic?

I think it's realistic. Just looking at the RS4 list in the UK at the moment and there are 36 listed. Any car thats around 43-45k I would imagine you can get it cheaper. We negotiated 7k off the dealer list on ours.

Yes, but that's a rather unique colour you have there. So imagine that was a factor in the discount.

A little update on this thread I bought one of the cars I looked at a month ago, but only picked it up last Friday.

I was in no rush and neither was the seller.

It belonged to a forum member, Simon (lem) he is replacing it with an RS6 Performance.

I haven't taken any pictures yet as it was raining when I cleaned it Saturday so here is a picture Simon sent me.

It took me quite a few months to buy an RS4 last year. Some sell quickly, high spec cars at a sensible price. Others remain forever - simply because the sellers, usually dealers, are asking way too much. The Shacks cars in particular I avoided simply based on what I thought was uncompetitive pricing

I made the mistake of buying a car advertised as having B&O and it didn't. I returned it. They are spec sensitive. Leather, B&O, Sports pack (or at least 20 inch wheels) a must. Make sure the car drives well. Look out for suspension clunk, a common fault, and judder from kerbed possibly refurbished wheels

So as has been commented, don't rush into it. Buy a well cared for high spec car at the right price and you won't go wrong

This car was spot on for me and so was the owner! I wanted to buy privately from the original owner. I think you can judge how well a car has been pampered that way.

I love the Prism silver, not everyone's favourite I know, but I liked it even more when you see how many other silver cars are out there. I think at the moment there is one advertised on Audi approved and that is it.

The spec of mine is pretty good, black optics, V spokes, B&O, advanced key, sports pack, comfort pack, high beam assist, black leather with silver piping, panoramic roof, Audi connect and dimming folding mirrors.

The DRC was replaced last year so they are nice and quiet. I have all the relevant paperwork including original sales invoice.
It was detailed with gtechnic and has the self healing type clear film on the front end, including the windscreen pillars and rear bumper.

I am very pleased with it!Image Image

Nice. Very similar spec to mine (no high beam assist). Post some pics!

There's one in the link above, once I've given it another clean and it stays dry I will post some.
