Lol have you been scouring the net for every video of a cold start RS6? . Seems to be a common theme that mine doesn't do-chuck out enough fumes to give an Eco-warrior an aneurism! I guess if the MRC gurus give it a clean bill of health then that should be fine. Now you have me wondering why mine DOESN'T do that!

You keep telling yourself that.....you're doomed, doomed I tell ya!
It may well just be condensation-whereabouts in the UK are you? We're not known for our arid dry weather and this Summer (so far) is a perfect example

Ha funnily enough I bought my RS from Carrera Cars in Glasgow (right next door to Ecotune) the drive back down south was fun . Last year I worked east coast US during the winter and it was -20 but just crisp not the damp cold we get that gets in your bones. I still froze my knackers off though!

So thats what it was? worn turbo seals? done exceptionally well to last 130k most turbos on big performance engines dont last much past 80k especially considering the heat involved in the v10.
I'd say the secondary water cicuit really increased longitivity on these.

They are well cooled and have good HP oil feed as well as not running at high boost so I would expect them to last compared to say a B5 rs4 !!

Yeah or well only one but replacing both was a good call, the problem wasnt really the turbo itelf, but preassure pipes facing down made oil make it was into the intercooler and the intake.
I recon on a car with the pipes facing upwards you would use this turbo for another 80k miles or so before noticing the problem :audibash:

All turbo engines with intercoolers suffer the same thing - any oil mist in the inlet charge condenses out in the pipes and intercooler. The later Ur quattros have a 'silencer' in the intercooler inlet (a fancy name for a tube of foam behind plastic mesh) which are always soaked with oil when you remove the cooler. I've drained 2-3 tablespoons of oil from coolers in the past. Leave a cooler to drain via one of the spigots and the mess after a few hours is something to see - or not if you've not used a large enough catch tray.
