Now just to learn how to open the exhaust valves, given I can't change a plug....

Just unplug the wire on each valve. You dont even need to jack the car up.
And if vcds errors bother you, you can buy a milltek valve delete unit which plugs into the wire you remove so keeos it clean and stops reporting any errors. I've ordered one.

I'm with Admiral too.
My quote would have been £120 cheaper with a tracker fitted. Tracker was quoted at £400 fitted and 25/month subscription I believe. No point other than has been pointed out RE recovering the car.
What quotes and costs have you guys had for fitting and monthly/annual subscription? I'd be interested to hear.

The subscriptions seem to be same for each model as the price is most likely set by the manufacturer.

I know mine is a C5 but I'm sure about 4-5 years ago I stated to the insurer that I had a tracker fitted from previous owner and said quote me with it and without as I hadn't activated it and it was cheaper saying it wasn't on. Never got to the bottom of that.
