Anyone who wants the dealership name just PM me. Since I have published the price I shouldn't name them here. Will go to car wow now

Trying to finalise colour then I arrive at my hotel tonight and this is parked outside.

Aside from naff red bits it looks like Daytona is a winner for me.

It's fate.

A bit more subtle red and that would actually look really good I'd guess

As a dealer demo it makes sense. As a private car errrrggghhhh.

But the grey is nicely stealth. Worried that Ascari is too bright for me.

I like the Daytona and after 30 years and 30 cars I chickened out and went blue (Sepang). Loving it. I actually like the red bits on that picture (as long as it's someone else's car). As you say its an omen -a good one unlike the films of the same name. The outside of that hotel looks great and clearly discerning clientele  where is it?

It would be interesting to know what deal Car Wow come up with. Coventry Audi were the best by far and Stirling matched straight away so I went local.

Not normally a fan or Daytona but they had one in the dealer when I was 1st interested in buying one and it looked stunning. I would have to have black or carbon optics though, I dont tjink the alu or titan work well with the grey. In the end, for me it was down to either daytona, nogaro or black .

Hotel is Fawsely Hall near Silverstone. I am off for a 2 day Porsche driving course at Silverstone with the 911 GTS.

I like the titanium, with black it is too mean I think.

I want the Ascari but SHMBO thinks it is too bright and finding an Ascari car to see in real life is impossible.....

I think this is Ascari - looks very different from the shots under lights in Las Vegas.

That one looks really dull. There are some much better blue's to choose from (albeit some are exclusive).

Thanks - you are right and really appreciate. It looks poop! Need to find another colour.

On a separate note was out in my new Land Rover Defender yesterday and someone drove into the back of me.... Not quite sure how since it is bright orange and 2 metres high, 2 metres wide.....

Land Rover defender has a slight mark on the end of the towball.

Golf has a destroyed front end.......

Now I have to tell insurance company since he wants to claim; which means I have a no fault accident against me for next year's renewal. Irritating given I was stationary at traffic lights at the time.

Grrrrrrrrr......

Make sure he's 100% payout, but sorry dude an absolute bugger!

I had a guy take me off my bike. I was sat next to him on a one way street at the lights. He just did a u turn into the bus lane! 50/50... No witness and he denied it. I was going too fast, while stationary....

I threatened to burn his house down non the less after that. Unfortunately I did back out from actually doing it :( damn sensible wife!

The crash is an interesting one.

I was stationary, waiting at the lights.

He slams into the back of my bright orange Land Rover.

No damage at all to the Landy - had it up on ramps today to check, not even a scratch.

Golf has around £2,000 of damage IMHO

He is claiming insurance.

He says his insurance company will call me.

Frankly I don't plan to answer the call, he drove into me, I have no claim nor any accident so will ignore the whole thing.

So far it is all amicable, nice texts, he admits it was his fault so I am sure this will just go away for me (hopefully), but if I call my insurance company (I checked with the friendly guy there today) then it is logged as a claim on me, even if I don't claim. Un believable.

Anyway - back on topic.

I have a Sepang RS6 PE on the driveway for a few days.

It is bonkers. Haven't gone past 25% throttle and it is scaring me already. About the same pace as the 911 but so much more removed from the road, controls too light etc etc, but a 911 is not a good benchmark to compare against since everything I have driven since I got it feels like wooden steering (F-Type, AMG GTS, now RS6).

As a family wagon it is quite cool, but may be too quick (I must be getting old).

The blue weave in the carbon is too bright for me, very noticeable.

But then I priced up a 3.0TDI A6 Avant to my spec and it is around £68k without discount, so maybe £60k vs £84k after discount for the RS6, probably worth having the V8 for those days when you need to blast.

Oh, and the exhaust pops got old after 5 seconds, will have to find the fuel pipe to that and clamp it off....

Will drive the RS6 for the next few days then decide!

I am really loving it and as has been said you can turn the exhaust off sport in settings. I like the odd pop as it were but turn it off as I near home or too many pedestrians.

It must be sunnier where you are as I can hardly see the blue thread in the carbon unless I shine a light on it or the clouds part.

Let us know how you get on.
