Hi,
No problem at all, out of interest where can I find out the history of the CAT C, if this something my insurer can tell me over the phone / put in writing?
Thanks

DVLA will know roughly..but i would think only the owner at the time will really know.and sometimes they dont pass this information on when sold just the basics..

If you HPI it some give the insurance company name who wrote the car off. Insurance companys have a linked system called BIEAFBA, this tells them why the car was put on a CAT and who by, But this data is not availbale to Jo public, You could try asking your insurance, they may have looked or could look. I would start with the old owners on the logbook, Maybe face book with the name, they may have some history to get you started. IMO its worth it as hopefully yours was not damaged, Personally I would feel happier buying one knowing it was parts only that made it a cat C. I would even pay more knowing this on a like for like car..
Good luck.

Re: Audi RS4 Avant
Thank you that's really helpful
I called the DVLA, was told to call my insurance company, called them and they said they can't help as they didn't write the car off so won't have a record
Will dig a little deeper!

Wow im suprised dvla dont know..when i was younger i had some women drive into rear of my car. and then you had to notify dvla if it was wrote off or not then you had to inform insurance company of what was happening...unless things have changed in the last 25yrs
