Re: When's the 1st service due?
I just had my service at 11,999 miles. To be fair the car has been saying service due for about the last 1000 or so miles.
I opted for the shorter interval service as I thought on a car like the RS4 it was probably best to have the oil changed at least annually.
Having now read that people thing the garage use the same oil regardless of which interval you opt for that ties in with my suspicion that they must all leave the factory with the same oil in. After all, the car was manufactured, shipped and prepared at the dealer before I told anyone what service interval I'd like.
I was lucky that due to a mix up with Wheels at the time of purchase I was given the first 2 services free from Audi.Had that not been the case I may have viewed the situation differently.
Speaking of running costs, I was shocked to get my tax renewal form and see it's a shade under £500, not sure why but I assumed it would be the same as my old Porsche that was £290.

Re: When's the 1st service due?
Popped into my dealer to book it in and asked for the price. They confirmed its just a "lube change", then went on to tell me it would be £327.71!
I gasped at that price and the woman on the desk seemed quite shocked also so I asked for a breakdown of costs. Here it is...
I asked if I could supply my own oil and filter, and insisted there was no need to charge me £5 to top up a screenwash. She said that would all be absolutely fine.
What oil do people here use/recommend for the RS? Castrol, Mobil 1, Valvoline, Fuchs! Millers etc?
Thanks in advance.

I supplied my own oil on the b7 and the service dropped to about £100 with them supplying the filter and doing a health check and a few other bits and bobs

Re: When's the 1st service due?
2nd service now due, car is now just over a year old, 19700 miles and the 2nd service includes gearbox and front diff oil chage. (1st servcie was at 4k miles)
Total = £667.00 not includign the 4 tyres I need, the dealer won;t be doing those, I'll do those when I get it back as I want to swap them out for the new Conti Sport 6's.

Interesting choice Vs Pilot Super Sports. What's swaying you to these vs the PSS's?geoffdunk wrote:2nd service now due, car is now just over a year old, 19700 miles and the 2nd service includes gearbox and front diff oil chage. (1st servcie was at 4k miles)

Seems I'm not going to the CSC6 as Conti don't do them in the RS4 size, CSC3's only.RossDagley wrote:Interesting choice Vs Pilot Super Sports. Not sure about the PSS's as it came from the factory with Perrelli P-Zero's on it.

Having driven on both P0's and PSS's, the PSS's are in a different league IMO.geoffdunk wrote:Not sure about the PSS's as it came from the factory with Perrelli P-Zero's on it.

Re: When's the 1st service due?
Ross, that's what I am reading everywhere so I may make that switch. I have just had a quote for th PSS's at 218 inc. VAT per corner which I think is pretty good (not the main dealer by the way).RossDagley wrote:Having driven on both P0's and PSS's, the PSS's are in a different league IMO.geoffdunk wrote:Not sure about the PSS's as it came from the factory with Perrelli P-Zero's on it.

Re: When's the 1st service due?
please switch! You'll love them. My car came on Pzeros' like most and I can't WAIT to get rid of them. Shouldn't be more than March or so and I'll have got through them - on with the PSS's. They totally transformed my B7 and C6.

Re: When's the 1st service due?
Ok, my tyre supplier can't get stock until 26th Jan but I am going to hold out until then, they are on order and will be fitted as soon as they come in. I am looking forward to it now as the grip along with the ride and handling of the Pirellis are OK but never gave me 100% confidence.

Re: When's the 1st service due?
I wouldn't say the PZero's were crap but the PSS's are a world of difference and are awesome.
