Yeah. To me, the black colour change opens up the carbon option as well which includes badges, splitter etc.

I'm a massive fan of black on sprint blue & your quote on adding carbon is spot on!
Gloss or matt black though is a more difficult decision, I'd go gloss as i like my car to shine.

I had my winter wheels (RS4 7-spoke) painted in Audi matt titanium colour (L8AU). Pretty happy with the result.

3 more votes for black then

I agree Rick. Gloss or satin/Matt is another very good question. I do like the Matt look as rspj suggested. I guess dependant on that outcome of the wheel colour would also dictate gloss or Matt Optics perhaps too???!!

I had the same query as you Richie & after posing the same question as you I went for gloss alloys & mirrors but my badges & optics are matt black. My lip spoiler has been wrapped in Carbon fibre along with the bumper strip under the boot, although mine is Misano. 8)

Hey Richie, I definitely agree with the majority. Go black. It will look the best and also feel more like a new set of wheels rather than just getting silver exactly the same as what you have.

I am biased but I love the gloss black. They look awesome when you clean them up. If you decide you want matt black just go for a spirited drive and the brake dust will take care of that :bigblink:

PS How was the triangle? Saw your pics :biggrin3:

Just for balance - standard sliver alloys every time from me. I have titanium wheels and mirrors and I hate them. Wheels always look dirty, even when they're not. Once winter's been and gone, the wheels and mirrors will be going back to standard silver. Mine's a black breadvan with black optics and factory fitted blacked rear windows. Too much black makes it look just too moody for me.

Cheers,
Bryan

Yeah yours looks spot on Si. Very true on the gloss to Matt in a few "brake checks" lol.

Triangle was awesome mate. Can't wait to get back up there. Want to get this bloody carbon clean done first though. Looking to take her off the road at the end of the month to get all these bits done

I have had this discussion with a few work colleagues and they also sided with the standard or hyper silver option. Might come down to a toss of a coin at this rate lol

Richie just had another look at your car in the picture thread. Mate it is stunning I would leave it as it is, absolutely gorgeous!

Cheers buddy

That's partly why I went with the 20" version of the original wheels. Think it looks great on them and just wanted to fill the arches a touch more. Would also like to drop it down a fraction at the rear too so the next decision is KW springs or coilovers??? lol
