Max
Did you not read this recent thread about removing bird poo?
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=114921

Apparently you need to get a hair dryer on the stain to get rid of it.

Went and saw rob at valet Magic last weekend. I now have a quote for some vinyl and a few other things. He is proposing to do a big detailing/clean up of the car. Has any of you used that? Is it worth the money? He tells me the car will be much cleaner, shinier for months... So would love to have any feedback as I am wondering if I should get that done at the same time as the vinyl

I removed the stain. I used meguiar x2.0 worked wonders. I have to thank forum members f that. Just will put some vinyl on the front to protect the bonnet from stain chips and blacking out a couple of things. Just wondering about the detailing and whether it is worth thre money as it is not cheap (almost 600 gbp)

had the same worry with eurotunnel !! had a B8 before and that was tight,so call me sad, rang them to get the exact dimension cos of course the C7 is wider and it's very tight
alternative is go high bay,but I go flexiplus and buy 10 tickets in one go ( really good value ) and you can't go high bay through flexiplus, but they told me they are looking at this,
anyway bin once since I got the C7 and got on there ok with mirrors folded,no dramas, just got to be really careful.Had bird poo on mine,I have sprint blue and luckily no left marks, perhaps the birds in East Anglia eat differently to wherever you are !!!!

Can't you just say you've got a vehicle over 1.85m?

hi doodlebug, no that's the point, you can't go flexiplus with a high vehicle,so you lose all the advantages in not going flexiplus and they are considerable,in my case if I opted to go high bay I would have lost the cost of 6 returns, they would have put me on an ordinary ticket cos you pay for the 10 in advance, but it just about works so no probe.

Only takes one visit into those kerbs and you'll be paying anyway!

Just drive the high vehicles with a normal ticket and they are very accommodating if you are nice

The high bay is actually almost worse. As the entrance to the "rail" is very tight. I agree that folding the mirror is much better and makes it easier. Flexiplus is the way especially if you are with kids.
Am in London so clearly birds don't eat as well as in Anglia :)
I think am going to go with the detailing inside outside just expensive so want to find arguments to justify it in my head :)

Sorry to hijack the thread a little, but interested in the eurotunnel options.

Assuming that my RS6 would be here in time I changed my booking to the high carriage worried about the width. I think I remember that there were less than 5 cm either side in the normal carriage.

How is the high carriage worse than this ? (if it has to have coaches board)

Thanks

thanks doodlebug
so, just to be clear, its worth sacrificing the lounge, because the normal narrow carriage is just to risky ?

It's forty minutes. No risk to wheels or paint work. And usually plenty of metal to gawp at.
