Thanks for the replies lads,

I'm still in a real dilema at the mo on what to do with the suspension on my S4. In fact as I write this, I should make a point of coming to a meet sometime and getting a spin in someones car who has fitted whatever to see for myself.

My dilema is. I'm in two minds about spending the money on a decent suspension kit (£1000-£1200) when I may be able to buy an RS4 by the end if the year. Although this plan has many factors acting on it.

I find the stock S4 set-up hard enough. Sure, it rolls when pushed hard on tight corners but for running around the town and bumpy A roads it's one of the firmest rides I've owned to date. Not that that's saying much. But at speed the handling is certainly within my driving skills. I know I definitely couldn't live with a crash hard clonky set-up round town as the bulk of my driving is 6 miles into work on dual carrageway and round the twon for a mile. Although having said that. Aberdeens roads are pretty decent w.r.t potholes.

I beleive a Scottish meet is planned for sometime soon. We shall see, Orrr perhaps a trip down over the boarder is due for this summer.

In that case I'd advise you to stick with the stock suspension.

If your daily drive is so short, is it really sensible to buy an RS4?

Dippy - You are of course correct - but I just to have one. I don't why I want one so badly, but I do.

I want one too, but since I don't drive at ridiculous speeds , it really wouldn't be much better than my modded S4. I'll be sticking with my S4 until I find out what the new RS4 is...

There again maybe if my wife decides to get one of those stupid people carriers, my need for an estate will be removed, and suddenly I will have a huge choice again. I used to love the look of the TT, but unfortunately it's now too common. Considering what Audi did to the new A4 shape, I'm sure I'll hate the new TT.

So in a way I'm happy to have no dilemma of choosing a new car - my S4 is definately the best car for me right now :-)

Have been in bed with flu or something for a few days....yuk.

Anyway visited some friends last weekend and took one of my old friends for a spin around a route we used to do in our Austin 1100s (OK have a good laugh inherited it from my Grandad. First taste of mobility), Golf GTIs and bikes. Let my friend have a spin.

He didn't hold back!

Suprised how quick my car felt and how well it went round corners.

Of course it can be improved, but let's face it's better than most cars on the road even as a well used standard model.
