As above, retail price 3,224 inc vat

https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/wint ... tyres.html

Listed under A5 rather than A4

Far better creating your own set buy buying a mint set of alloys second hand and fitting new tyres yourself. The wheels are so expensive new from Audi!

I've been looking and your £900-£1000 for a set of tyres and then at least £150 a rim. I've seen 2nd sets from Germany for £1300 :

As per my thread, I have a trip to Switzerland in Feb......might have to bite the bullet as can't get chains for the 265/30/20s and the manual only states 235/40

There is no way I'd want to put chains on 20s only a 30 profile tyre. Winters tyres are the only way forward - ideally on a second hand set of OEM 10 spoke 19 x 9s wrapped in 265/35 19s

I was thinking of just replacing the tyres on my 19 inch rims and storing the summer ones till March.
Event Tyres seem to have alpine's at a really good price and even if a rim gets some damage i can refurb it for £50-60.
Just curious as to why so many buy new rims as well? Is it the 20 inch issue.

Car is due on the 5th January so i'm just doing Tiger bounces waiting! :jump:

For me personally, I like to have two sets of wheels, so I can just swap them over myself when the time's right
Plus, I got the 20's with new tyres for not much more than I could later sell the 20's for anyway and I fancied trying rotors

I'm needing a set of wheels as the Tyre fitter i used for 6 years his guys scratched the alloys and his fitters denied marking the alloys
problem is a was away when the Tyres where fitted and got back 2 weeks later to see the scratches I was going to let it go but after he basically called me a liar as his fitters say the did not scratch the alloys i will never ued his busness or let his fitters near my car again

Same as Graeme. 2nd set is easy to swap over in an hour. 20s can't take snow chains.

I fitted a new set of 19in alloys with 235/40 Dunlop winter sport 3D last week and tried them on snow and ice at the weekend (1000ft+ Aberdeenshire). The narrower tyre is better for winter conditions and the 20in rims are protected from winter potholes and salt. Makes perfect sense to me.
