In the UK and most of europe the A0 marking means the tyre is made to the tolerances the factory designed for your car...

If it's there they're legit, I would say.

I find the Pirellis sticky in the dry hot conditions, and a slippery weasel sensation in the wet.

On the Toyo's my regular tyre supplier says that the "AO" stands for "Audi Original"

For reasons best known to themselves, my dealer ordered my car twice, meaning that they have two identical RS4's in their compound! The cars have arrived early and I will take delivery in January but I went to have a look today and noticed that one is on Bridgestone's and the other is on Pirelli's. The car I was earmarked for is on Bridgestone's so I'm happy with that, but thought it was odd that they've probably followed each other off the line and have different boots on.

I'd be happy with either......

The reason will be that Audi agree a certain volume of units with each of the suppliers and will generally dual source tyres with a couple (or sometimes more) brands. This is to avoid monopolising supply and also to give equal share on halo models to the suppliers, which is attractive to them, so a good sourcing nego point

From my experience, the Bridgestone they're supplying at the moment are almost a track tyre with a really soft compound. And a very slick cut shoulder
Super super grippy in the dry, but I can't imagine they'd last too long (I put 1000 hard miles on a set and they were already starting to show signs)
The pirrellis are decent tyres and, I personally think, better than people give them credit for
I went through a set in 14k miles, but they were past their best by 8-9 and pretty shoddy once they're done

If it were me, I'd go for the Pirelli shod car as this time of year you're unlikely to be using much of the dry grip or getting them up to temps

Best bet is to tell dealer to hang onto both cars as if yours goes wrong in the first few hundred miles, you can just ask for a straight swap :)

No no no they are shocking!! my only experience with Pirellis is just horrendous grip, my daily journey to the gym involves some fast twisty roads entering a roundabout, my car just felt so unstable I would regularly get it sideways, since the pilot sports I've had fitted, there is no drama!! Just grip and go.
Just my experience, always used to use f1's they are great too

What miles were your pzero's on Si ? Mine were past their best with about 5mm tread left
I'd agree that PS2's are the bollocks though. I changed to them on my last RS4 when the pzzero's died and will do the same on my current one too

I bought my car from Andy when it had 5k on the clock, but there was plenty of tread on them, I went straight from the b7 with f1's I was shocked at the difference to be honest

I've never had the F1's on my rs's. Heard they're blimmin good though, but don't last too long ?
I can get michelins direct though, so they're pretty cheap and a no brainer for me

Had the deflation warning light come on on the motorway tonight. One tyre was around 5psi lower than the others, so I pumped it up and left it for a couple of hours, then went for a spin and it seems ok now
Hope so, as I'm driving to mid Wales tomorrow mountain biking and I don't fancy coming down to a flat tyre and having to change all four wheels back over at 6:30am tomorrow in the frost
