No it's nothing to do with that, it's not mod related at all.

From what I understand, on TTRS and Rs3, where turbo charger related ECU 'chipping' is common, the warranty company who provide the third party 'Audi warranty' on new/used cars have a declaration that the dealer has to complete that asks them to check any previous or current ECU mod. If found, they'll invalidate it straight away and it'd then be up to the owner/dealer/legal rep to prove that any mod didn't hav adverse effect on the failing part in question
I got this info from my local Audi dealer as they were, at the time, dealing with a diff failure on an RS3 which had been rejected for this very reason

Gone - 11/06 B7 RS4 Avant - black/black (Daily drive & kids taxi)

Gone - 09/14 B8 RS4 Avant - Misano Red/Ceramics (Daily drive & kids taxi)

Current - 04/18 B9 Rs4 Nardo Grey
ZX10R Race bike - 210bhp and a few skid marks on the seat ;)

So don't mod if you like your warranty. I couldn't be bothered with going through that fight.

Agreed. It's bad enough when you've not touched with a barge pole!

Exactly, yeah
I think it's only a problem on turbo cars as the big increase in torque puts a lot of strain on pretty much everything
We'll be ok in our dreary old V8 cars :)

You still thinking of getting shot of those ceramics nick ?

They don't make it easy sometimes, so I can just imagine trying to argue that a turbo mod doesn't put any stress on that failed door hinge :)

Possibly, I'll see what Audi come back with re mine. At the mo, looks like they're trying to replace discs and pads under warranty (not that discs are bad, but I think the dealer tries to get to the most from the 3rd party co)

if they replace, I'll have an ask to see if RS5 ceramic brake set will simply swap over and then we can talk from there if you like ?

Well I've had the new gearbox fitted and the car feels much nicer now.

Shifts are much faster and snappier when pushing on and much smoother when driving in comfort/auto mode.

Very pleased with the outcome.
