I'm not sure the B7 looks tame, but I think certainly looks a bit dated. After picking my B8 up a few months ago, I parked it up next to my B7 that I was PX'ing and was shocked how old fashioned the B7 looked and felt. Even down to the click of the indicator repeater, it just felt dated in comparison

However, the steering on the B7 was better than the B8 IMHO, although once I got some miles under my belt in the B8, the weighting and ratio have grown on me. The noise of the B7 was better, again IMHO. However, the rest of the B8 is a significant improvement over the B7 and for the type of driving I do, it's a better car... although a damn sight more expensive having moved out of a 20k car into a 65k car

But honestly, life would be boring if we all liked the same things though, so everyone to their own (for gods sake, there's even a guy down my street who owns two Hyundai coupes and lugs them around to shows with his wife after they've taken them from their matching covers in his double garage with Hyundai logos on the interior walls....)

Reliability - I doubt very much judging by mapped B8 S4s, that the B8 S-tronic will handle the fitting of a supercharger while the manual B7 box doesn't seem to be troubled by this.
OK not many will do this but in the longer term, post warranty, I expect there will be issues with standard cars.

Does the B8 'box require any sort of service such as a 40k oil change?
