It's a zf 8 and is a tq converter automatic but Audi are calling it S-tronic (same with the S8). Seems to be the new Audi word for all automatic transmissions, be they DSG dual clutch style or the traditional tq converter auto.
Sorry old bean, drybeer is right (and I'd expect him to know,), it's Tiptronic branded on the RS6. S-Tronic remains the double clutch branding.

Don't think so, at least not now.

The sales guy said they were selling about evens with the RS4, but he didn't quote numbers. There is a lot of marketing on this model, loads of stuff around the dealership.

Given the cost of options and the cars I've seen so far, basic spec seems pretty common. The desirable spec cars are going to be rare. I can't see there being anymore C7s than there were C6s.

There will be.

C6's landed at the credit crunch in 2008 and Audi UK has to fund massive discounts for them to find a home.

2013 the economy is on the up, car sales are up month on month for the 18th consecutive month. The car itself is getting good reviews.

Will be lots more C7s than C6s.

C6s will be the rare beast!

Indeed, and thankfully I benefitted from their generosity!

Even with economy in growth I still can't see them shifting thousands of them, especially with BMW and Merc doing the deals they are.

I got the mailshot the other week then phoned the dealer this week. I wanted a test drive on Tuesday but it was booked out so did it for the following Monday. Audi sales rep - " you can pick it up at 10.30 but we need it back by 4pm", myself - "erm, okay" (thinking endless possibilities). There is no way I can afford one now but I'm glad I booked it for future reference! I'll take the C5 and get a nice shot next to the C7 then a steady away drive around ahem.....

Agree. With DK the C6 will be a rare beast. But cannot see many C7 on the road with the price of it competition amg and M5 and with the special offers. Was on the motorway down south the other day seen 8 new M5 on the motrway there and back and so many amg's a variation. I never seen 1 RS6 C6 so they are very rare and where in from only ever seen 1 more RS6 CHRIS. And that was the other day, the V10 is the last of the big brutes no more V10 never again will we be able to say we have a lamborghini V10 with 2 turbos engine in a family estate. There's something about the V10 I think that will become a and already is a very special car. I will wait and have to see when I drive the C7 I know it will be very fast and beautiful looks mean. Just when I get time to go to the stealers and test one. Sorry for this emotional post hahahahaha. :jump:

I'll let you know how it goes but really hoping I didn't mishear the garage and I don't want to jinx it either.

I hear you there, stealers up in the north east aren't very forthcoming with test drives.

Audi need to pull their finger out on on looking after customers who buy these cars and believe me there aren't many who can afford to buy insure and keep putting the fuel in these beasts.
I would have snapped there hands off on the new RS4 or RS6 but I was told that's the price no deals available and the leasing option was through the roof so I thought screw you then I'll keep my B7.

Then I got a call from BMW on a new M5 which I had never considered and was truly surprised in both cost and after 6 months of ownership the performance handling and practicality.
BMW. Have really tried with the deals they are knocking out and I think the mission is to nick RS and AMG customers, I thought it was a limited offer but it looks like its continued.
£599 plus vat 10,000 miles on 2.5 year lease - Basic car, at that price I'll have another when this deal finishes. :audibash:
Not sure if Merc are doing any deals - would be interesting to find out.

Come on Audi be more flexible :beerchug:
