My thinking behind not getting the uprated one and spending the extra money was that there is no performance benefit and the new clutch will last a good few years I would assume.

OEM is cheaper than aftermarket? I find that surprising. Do you have a line on a good deal for a new clutch + flywheel from Audi? Hey guys just an update it was the clutch that was shot so have replaced and went with oem in the end in 1700 pounds lighter but soon as I took her for a blast all seems worth it !!
